Day.....oh who cares, I"M BACK!! Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch

After a loooong break, i finally got off my ass and decided to start posting again. Sorry, but the recession really got me down. A few friends lost their jobs and i really didn't feel like talking about multi-thousand dollar watches. But, after a few months off, I took off the cranky pants and put back on the awesome watch pants. Here's one of the most awesome:

Omega Speedmaster Moon Watch

Ya know that whole moon landing thing that happened awhile back? Do you remember what time it was when they landed? No? Well, this watch does because it was the watch that Buzz Aldren was wearing when he recorded the exact time that they landed. This is the first watch in space and on the moon. What did you ever do?

Tech Specs:
Fixed tachymeter bezel
Stainless Steel
Manual Wind (Omega 1861)
42 mm diameter
Hesalite crystal

Day 11: Panerai Luminor 1950 GMT 8 Day

Italy isn't all spaghetti and meatballs, ya know. They produce some of the world's finest goods, including this Panerai Luminor, or they used to at least. Panerai is now made in Switzerland. Anywho, way back in the 1860s, the Italian Navy needed a big dependable watch that they could see underwater and in the dark. This is what they got, and all benefited. Still admired as one of the best watches in the world, its now more jewelry for the rich (like most good watces) than tool, but if that actor or CEO ever wanted to run covert operations against the Allies, at least they know they can.

Spizecs:
• Movement: Mechanical
• Case: Steel
• Case Size: 44mm
• Dial: Black
• Bracelet: Leather Crocodile Strap

Day 10: Nomos Tangente

This is a designer's watch, plain and simple. It was designed by German graphic artist Suzy Gunter using Bauhaus-like design principles in the early 1900s. Its thin, sleek, and minimal without sacrificing readability. Its very Art-Deco but in a way thats not pretentious. Also, Nomos is located on the same street in Germany as A. Lange & Söhne, Glashütte Original, Union Glashütte—some of the best watch mackers in the world.

Specs:
• 36mm diameter (not including crown)
• Movement: Handwound ETA-Perseux Caliber 7001
• Sapphire crystals front and back
• Silver-plated dial
• Blued steel hands
• 42 hour power reserve
• Incabloc shock protection
• 3-piece, polished steel case
• Water resistant to 30 meters

Day 9: Blancpain Leman Chronograph

Not too much to say today. Here's the Leman Chronograph, named in honor of Lake Geneve. One of the cool things about Blancpain is that they refuse to make a quartz watch. Sticking to your guns...well done.

Specs:
• Mechanical movement with automatic winding, extra flat, caliber Blancpain 1185, chronograph, case 38 mm diameter, 11.7 thickness, sapphire glas, screwed-down crown, push buttons, screwed case back, waterproof to 10 atm.
• Black Crocodile leather strap

Day 8: Bell & Ross BR 03-94 Instrument

When the counterterrorist unit of the French National Police commision you to supply them with the watch that they'll wear as they shove bagettes up the asses of terrorists everywhere (in France, at least), you can probably go ahead and say you make a hell of a watch. This Bell and Ross comes coated in black carbon for better durability than steel. It also makes it look pretty cool. And, of course, readability is superb. They based the face of this watch off of cockpit instruments and guages. I guess you'd need that to make sure you throw that tear gas grenade in the window at 12:30 and not 12:15.

Tech specs:
Movement: automatic ETA 2894.
Functions: chronograph.
Case: 42 mm in diameter. Steel with black carbon powder coating.
Dial: Galvanic black. White photoluminescent numbers, hands and index marks.
Glass: anti-reflection sapphire crystal.
Water-resistance: 100 meters.
Strap: Rubber or heavy-duty synthetic fabric.
